DISTRIBUTION

At Glades Utility Services, Inc.(GUS) our distribution department specializes in many different areas in the overhead and underground industry. Our crews are skilled to carry out maintenance, storm restoration, trouble shooting and also new construction of primary and secondary feeders. We have the essential specialized equipment needed for laying out and pulling in new overhead conductor as well as trenching and installing underground conductor. Our crews are well trained and certified for many different aspects of their job, especially in safety. We strive to be as safe and efficient as we possibly can. The safety of our employees and the satisfaction of our customers is our first priority.

TRANSMISSION

Glades Utility Services, Inc. transmission department has experience in all areas of transmission construction. GUS has successfully completed transmission projects that include the re-conductor of 795 ACSR to 1621 trap wire and also 795 to 1590 ACSR. We have constructed projects that include the setting of poles ranging from 105’ to 130’ of weights up to 80,000 lbs. GUS has also converted 230 KV H-frame single circuit lines to single concrete double circuit with 1431 ACSR on one circuit and 954 ACSR bundle conductor on the opposite circuit.

GUS prides itself on our Live Line Bare Hand crews which have completed numerous jobs safely and without any line interruption. GUS’s bare hand projects have consisted of 115 KV H-frame replacement, 3 pole dead end structures, 138 KV insulator change outs, 69 KV insulator and pole replacement. Our qualified crews have also provided ground support and assisted in the change out of insulators on 297 structures of a 500 KV line.

GUS’s transmission crews maintain all certifications and are highly trained in all aspects of the transmission industry.
