Glades Utility Services Inc. (GUS) was formed over ten years ago to meet the electric construction needs throughout Florida. It originated in performing mainly distribution construction and maintenance while assisting the community with storm restoration services. With a vast experience in distribution facility construction, specializing in line construction and rebuilding circuits, our electric distribution crews are highly experienced in the conditions within the Florida environment. To this day we are always prepared to assist the community when hurricanes and storms threaten our electric distribution networks. Our crews are experienced in both overhead and underground construction with safety and quality workmanship as top priorities.
With our proven ability to perform solid distribution construction and maintenance work, GUS entered the electric transmission facility construction over three years ago. Again with safety and quality workmanship as a corporate directive, has also undertaken many jobs associated with major electric companies in Florida. GUS has even performed construction work for many county and municipal cooperatives and organizations.
GUS possesses strong leadership skills in managing both its distribution and transmission work crews and is quite capable of being very mobile and available to move to various work locations efficiently. Our crews are regularly trained in safety procedures and work practices such as bare hand work. An important aspect of our crews is the ability to assess and work in the harsh Florida terrain.
Over the past few years our infrastructure, fleet and warehouse facilities have expanded to meet requirements warranted by projects GUS has performed. GUS has built an extensive fleet to support most situations, as needed. Whenever specialized equipment is necessary, management utilizes its knowledge and resources to lease equipment and minimize the time required on the job. Through a variety of previously constructed jobs, GUS has assembled a large assortment of specialty tools ready for delivery to the job sites.
GUS’s commitment to safety and quality workmanship continues on with a high degree of support in its project management and financial areas. GUS’s investment in its project tracking system is among the most detailed and accurate due to its new Foundation software, which is extensively used by construction companies throughout the country. Our present leadership headed by our GM has over 40 years in electrical utility experience. Our senior leadership team has a combined total 150 years of utility experience working for some of the largest utilities in the country. With this experience GUS has the ability to assess, manage and complete projects safely, on schedule, and with complete satisfaction by its customers.
